Top Contractors

Despite forecasts of doom and gloom on the horizon, the market outlook remained bright for many of the area’s top contractors in 2007. Whiting-Turner, Clark Construction Group and Turner Construction all remained in the $1-billion club regionally with Whiting-Turner and Clark approaching the $2-billion dollar mark. Ten companies reported revenues above $500 million last year.

With private sector work softening in the residential and commercial markets, institutional building is proving a safe bet for many companies.
