Builders' Ball Raises $160,000 for Charities

More than 1,200 members of the Washington Building Congress gathered to raise money for local charities in Washington, D.C., Nov. 6.

The event, put on by the Washington Building Congress, drew more than 1,200 members and raised more than $160,000 for four local charities.

The Charter Cup, which is the association's most prestigious award, was presented during the association's annual awards dinner at the Bank One Riverfront Center in Wilmington, Del., Nov. 4.

Representatives accept the award for best commercial project under $4 million at the ABC - Southeast Pennsylvania's Annual Awards Banquet in East Norriton, Pa., Nov. 17. The winning project was the new headquarters for the SEPA Chapter of the Associated Builders & Contractors. The contest, sponsored by the Greater Washington Area Chapter #67 of the National Association of Women in Construction, is designed to inform children in grades 1-6 about careers in construction.
