Two construction executives join together to buy out AMEC Construction Management's Southeastern Division
AMEC Southeastern Assets Sold To Newly-Created Firm
BETHESDA, MD. Facchina-McGaughan, LLC, a new firm founded
by two veteran construction executives, has purchased the
assets of AMEC Construction Management, Inc.'s Southeastern
Division. It will operate as a general contractor offering
the full range of project delivery services in south Florida
and the Washington, D.C. area.
AMEC has made a decision to make a controlled exit from its
interests in U.S. construction management. The exit may involve
selling off more business units or closing the doors on some
business units.
Said Paul V. Facchina Sr., CEO of The Facchina Group of Companies,
LLC: "AMEC's Southeastern Division has been successful,
with a long résumé of major projects to its
credit. Our new firm, locally owned and privately held, has
even better prospects because its organization will be streamlined.
This translates into greater efficiency and flexibility
features that will benefit customers, subcontractors and employees."
Facchina is chairman of the new company, which will operate
independently of The Facchina Group.
A.S. McGaughan Jr. was head of AMEC's Southeastern Division
prior to its acquisition by Facchina-McGaughan. "Work
on current projects will continue seamlessly," McGaughan
said. "Personnel in both the Bethesda and Ft. Lauderdale
offices remain in place, providing the skills and experience
to which AMEC's clients are accustomed."
