Granary Associates names Cummiskey
president and CEO
James Eastwood exits his post as president and CEO of Philadelphia-based
Granary Associates to assume the role of chairman.
Granary Associates of Philadelphia,
Pa., recently announced the appointment of John
J. Cummiskey as president and CEO. Cummiskey, who is
a founding principal of the firm, succeeds former president,
James Eastwood. Eastwood was
named the firm's chairman. During his time at Granary, Cummiskey
has played a major role in the firm's business development,
including the expansion of its consulting services that embrace
project management, planning, architecture, interior design
and financing. Eastwood will continue to function as a principal
and maintain his long-term client relationships.
Davis Carter Scott of McLean,
Va., recently announced that Jan Makovnik
and Kevin Pennington have been
promoted to project director for architecture. Makovnik has
more than 11 years of design and management experience. He
joined Davis Scott Carter in 1997. Pennington has 19 years
of experience in corporate healthcare and residential design
and has been with Davis Carter Scott for six years.
Grunley Construction of Rockville,
Md. recently announced five new additions to its staff. Rodney
Nichols serves as project manager on the $1.1 million
Bolling Air Force Base Fire Protection Systems project. Daniel
Patete is the project manager of the $44 million renovation
of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union project at the University
of Maryland. Robert Dalton joined
the firm as superintendent on the $74.5 million U.S. Supreme
Court modernization project. Adam Grunley
serves as assistant project manger for the UI.S. Department
of Interior modernization project. Jason
Nix joined the company as an estimator.
James G. Davis recently announced
several hires and promotions. Michelle
Christen has been promoted to controller. Dave
Mensh was hired as a senior project manager. Roy
Rafter has been promoted to project executive. Ted
Holt has been promoted to project manager. Mark
Haase, Dominic Machion,
and TJ Sterba have all been
promoted to project manager positions.
Nason Construction of Wilmington,
Del., recently announced the addition of three new additions
to its company. William Burke
joined the firm as chief financial officer. Burke has more
than 27 years of financial management experience in building
materials. Ronda Bailey joined
the company as director of business development. Bailey has
25 years of marketing experience and eight years of sales
experience in engineering and construction. Brian
J. McGillin joined the company as project executive
in its Philadelphia office. McGillin has more than 22 years
of project management experience.

Carter & Burgess recently
announced three new additions to its mid-Atlantic offices.
Pipper Mosley joined the firm
as business development manger for the Washington, D.C. and
Baltimore offices. In her new role, Mosley is charged with
growth of the firm's portfolio in the region.
Albert H. McCoubrey joined the firm as vice president
and office manager for the Washington, D.C., office. McCoubrey
has more than 31 years of domestic and international experience,
including design and project management. Hank
Ras joined the firm as project manager in Washington,
D.C. Ras has 32 years of experience in architectural design
and project management.
Rutherfoord of Alexandria,
Va., recently announced the promotion of Doug
Crowe to senior vice president. Crowe has been with
the assurance company since 1992.
Brian Bruns has been elected
chairman of the board of the Washington
Building Congress. Burns is an executive vice president
