leaders of its new specialty service center, PB PlaceMaking.

Parson Brinckerhoff of Baltimore,
Md., recently announced that Uri Avin
and Maria do Rocio Morais do Rosario
have been named practice leaders of PB
PlaceMaking, a new specialty service center at Parsons
Brinckerhoff. PB PlaceMaking assists in the development of
sustainable communities in concert with the design and development
of infrastructure. Avin is based in Baltimore and leads PB
PlaceMaking's practice in regional growth management. He has
more than 33 years of experience in growth management and
land use/transportation coordination in both the public and
private sectors. Rosario is based in Washington, D.C., and
leads PB PlaceMaking's practice in sustainable community development.
She has more than 25 years of experience in architecture,
urban design and urban planning in Brazil and the United States.
Donohoe Construction of Washington,
D.C., recently announced that Mark
Barry has rejoined the firm as vice president. He will
be responsible for overseeing all operation in the firm's
Specialty Construction Division. Barry has more that 24 years
of commercial real estate, facilities and construction experience.
DMJM Design of Washington,
D.C., recently hired that Peter Obarowski
as senior associate. Obarowski, who specializes in justice
design, is responsible for specialized security planning,
project management and design
The United States General Services
Administration recently announced that Chief Architect
Ed Feiner is retiring after
a 35-year federal career. During his tenure, Feiner was instrumental
is the creation of GSA's award-winning Design Excellence program.
Dewberry of Fairfax, Va., recently
announced the several senior-level promotions. Samuel
Bertolino, an associate in the firm's infrastructure
planning and design division in Fairfax, has been named senior
associate. Gurmeet Gahunia,
an associate in the Lanham, Md., office, has been named senior
associate. Patrick Peiffer,
an associate in the Manassas, Va., office, has been named
senior associate. Mike Shepp,
an associate in the Ranson, W.Va., office, has been named
senior associate. Dustin Kuhlman,
a director of technical services and civil engineering in
the firm's Manassas office, has been named associate. Firas
Makarem, a project manager and civil engineer in the
federal programs division in the Fairfax office, has been
named associate. Scott Martin,
a senior emergency management specialist in the federal programs
division in the Fairfax office, has been named associate.
Marc Mezzanote, a project manager
and civil engineering in the Gaithersburg, Md., office, has
been named associate. Peter Okafor,
a project manager and civil engineer in the Gaithersburg office,
has been named associate. Carl Rigler,
a project engineer in the Manassas office, has been named
an associate.
Tricon Construction of Beltsville,
Md., recently announced the promotion of Ken
Klinck to president and Ric
Molloy to vice president, chief financial officer.
The firm has also hired Bill Kraft
as operations manager. Klinck has more than 26 years of experience
in the construction industry and has been with Tricon since
2002. He previously served as executive vice president. Molloy
has more than 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
He joined Tricon in 2003 and recently served as chief financial
officer. Kraft brings more than 21 years of experience in
construction to the firm. He will head up the company's project
management efforts.
Maintenance Design Group of
Washington, D.C., recently hired Chuck
Belser as manager of the eastern region. He will be
based in MDG's new Washington office. In addition to guiding
the growth of the office, he will manage projects related
to rail and bus transit systems as well as public works maintenance
and operations facilities. He has nearly 30 years of experience
in project management, client relations, operations improvements,
productivity improvements, strategic master plan development
and workspace layout for a variety of maintenance facilities
in the northeast and across the Midwest.
Warner Construction Consultants
recently announced that Amy Phillips
has joined the firm as its first director of marketing and
business development. Phillips will develop and implement
the company's comprehensive promotional efforts and seek new
business opportunities for Warner's three major service areas
- dispute resolution, scheduling and project management. Prior
to joining Warner, Phillips held senior-level positions Cini-Little,
RTKL and DMJM/AECOM.
